Dear Santa Paws,

Christmas is just around the corner and our lists aren’t that long. All we want this Christmas is a FUREVER family… a new fur mom and dad who would love and take good care of us.

We’ve been here at the shelter for months…some for a years already and it’s not really bad. We meet a lot of nice and kind people who take good care of us. They come and visit us, play with us, feed us, give us bath, clean our cattery and kennels and even play with us. We like the attention they give to us. However, we’ve been waiting for a very long time for someone to take us home with them. Will that be YOU?

We are the long term-residents at the shelter and are often overlooked probably because we are so shy….quiet…not playful or just need extra time to come around. Please be patience  with us. Once we get to know you, you’ll see how wonderful we are.

Christmas is fast approaching and this can be a tough time for us. We hear stories about how wonderful Christmas are for dogs and cats with their humans. We hear about how they get their presents: special food like big sizeable bones, yummy tuna, delicious dog and cat treats; able to play and run outside with their humans. Walk with them in the park and lying with their family being petted, snuggled and love. How we wish we could able to feel and experience that too.

We wish every adoptable pet at C.A.R.E. Animal Shelter (dogs and cats) gets adopted by Christmas. We would love nothing more than to come home with you for the holidays and for the rest of our lives.

We are not sad. We are happy for those dogs and cats. We are happy for our friends. We just don’t understand why people go to the store instead of coming here to adopt us. Don’t you know that here at the animal shelter, you can find a dog or cat to fit your unique personality and it feels great to know that you saved a life too.

Is there anything wrong with us?

We never had someone to pet us and look us into our eyes and tell us how they love us. How happy they are being with us. We never given a Christmas bone. We’ve never snuggled next to someone who love us. We’ve never had our  belly rubbed.

We’ve been craving for love and attention…will  you give that to us this Christmas? Will you open your home for us? By taking home a new pet, you also make room at the shelter for another animal with nowhere else to go.

What’s wrong with us? We can give love too. We promise we will lick your face until you can not stand it. We promise we will be loyal forever and stand right by your side whenever you needed us. We will not leave you.  We promise that we will be so excited to see you everyday even it it’s not Christmas. We will wag our tails when we see you, no matter what mood you’re in. We don’t even need a Christmas bone or special food or treats. All we want is LOVE.

We love you anyway. We love you more than you can ever imagine.

Even if you don’t pick us or love us, please don’t go buy a puppy bred in a puppy mill. It cause us to be abandoned each year.

Please give us the love that we deserve. We promise you will be our entire world. We promise we will love you more than you could ever imagine.

Adopting a shelter pet is an act of rescue and love. It is a good deed for you, for the shelter, but especially for us who needs you.

CARE Rescued Dogs and Cats

This Christmas please ADOPT don’t shop. Don’t buy a puppy or kitten, they’re not gifts. They are not a “thing” they are living and loving creatures too. They are “FAMILY”. Most of the animals that bought during the holidays as Christmas presents often end up back in shelters because families aren’t truly ready for the responsibility.

If you do adopt, make sure you’re prepared and ready for the responsibility. Having a pet is lifetime commitment.  So whenever you decide to adopt and give a homeless pet the gift of a happy home, be sure to think it through and make it a family decision.  If you are unsure, make a donation this holiday season.
